Thinking and Language

Describe thinking. How do you think? List several positives and negatives to the way you think.

  1. Thinking is the process of using your mind to consider something carefully (courtesy of google). When I think, depending on what i am thinking about it can affect my mood in different ways. For example, if I am thinking about going home and chilling in my hot tub, I might feel more relaxed. Or maybe I was thinking about a failed test and my mood gets more negative.

  2. Thinking is the act of reacting to a situation and using what you know to come up with an answer. It is very important to me because i need it to survive.

  3. Thinking is cognition, whether or not it occurs consciously.

I tend to be able to wrap my mind around several alternatives, while still maintaining my view.

I have a good memmory recall for obscure things.

I find that i'm able to think about almost anything without issue.

I can generally detect patterns with relative ease.

I like that I have powerful control over what I think about. When other people are thinking of, frankly, nasty images, I can not picuture them.

Sadly, I tend to be unable to STOP THINKING.

  4. Thinking is what you always do. No matter how much you try to "not think" you never will be able to. You brain is constantly working, even when your sleep. Thinking is the process of using your mind to consider something suspiciously. I think in ways that may not even seem to make sense to some people. When I’m in darkness or in a room alone, I think in a way that relaxes me. I think positively when I’m in a “good mood” but when I’m in a bad mood I think in a way where I would enjoy inflicting pain into the next person I see. But I don’t because I keep most of my thoughts in my head, except for what I’m typing now..lol

  5. I think by using my brain to process certain ideas. For example, I am currently processing my brain to come up with a reasonable response for this blog. In addition, my thinking affects my moods. I think of positive things when I am relaxed or happy. And I think of negative things when I am mad or angry.

  6. Thinking is a way of reasoning and processing thoughts. I would say that my way of thinking is a little bit of everything. There are times when I can think clearly. Other times I act without processing what is being done. Sometimes spontaneous thinking allows you to have fun and to feel free but at the same time it could have detrimental consequences that you might regret. With my way of thinking sometimes people don't understand because they're not on the same page. In the positive aspect you could say I'm unique and different. Other people see it as illogical and percieve me as an outcast because we don't see the same things.

  7. Thinking is a way to solve problems, as many believe that general intelligence evolved to help solve novel problems. I tend to think in terms of availability, this is my habitual way to do it. This is good in a sense, as it speeds up some of my decisions, however, considering how deprived I am of certain information it can make me look like an ignorant moron. (NOTE: THe definition of 'ignorant' is 'uneducated in general') However, I also tend to lack in self-confidence, making me less forthright in my ideas. I also tend to think in categories, I try to put things into categories, whether they can or not. This, again, can make things quicker, but makes it less accurate. However, it can also take some time to stimulate serious thought. Fortunately, a lot of this is repairable.

  8. I think, [wow how ironic], that thinking can be both conscious thinking and unconscious thinking. When people people think consciously, they are usually given a situation that they will be evaluating and dealing with. Unconscious thinking can probably be why we say so many random things because you think of random things and just say it without knowing that we said it. One would usually have thoughts in mind when dealing with a situation. Sometimes events and past experiences influence the way one thinks. Maybe someone was traumatized when they were younger, influencing them to think negatively for the most part, and then they'll be ones traumatizing others. People who were raised in a good environment and raised thinking of happy things like [fluffy bunnies and pink ponies] will usually grow up to think positively about life.

  9. Thinking is processing things and thoughts. I think about things that I see. For example, if I see something funny I think funny thoughts. My thoughts are triggered by things I see and I think about whatever it is that I see. Sometimes when I see someone that looks bad I think ignorant things about them. Then at other times I can see someone that may be less fortunate and I feel bad for them.

  10. This song is inappropriate for school, but it is my favorite song at the time period. It's called "Kill the DJ" by Nicki Minaj. I could easily study to this; it makes everything I do so much easier. Like right now I am typing this little paragraph and listening to this song without any problems. I could study to any song that I listen to on a daily basis, if it appeals to me then I can study to it.
