Build a baby!

Looking at the growth and development of human beings, what do you feel is the most important stage and why?

  1. I would say the most important stage in human development is the fetus stage. I think this because, if the fetus doesn't develop correctly during this stage then the rest of the developing stages could be affected. Such as, if your legs do not develop then, during the stage where you learn to crawl and walk would be stunted dramatically.

  2. I feel that the most important stage is when the child begins to actually look like it is part of the human species. When the baby begins to grow finger, toes, legs, and arms are the most important stage. This is important because before this stage all animal fetuses look the same and this is where different species begin to separate into their own branch of things. This stage when the baby actually looks like a human is important because it allows the baby to be classified legally as a human and not a thing that resembles an alien. This stage is where the baby can't be aborted which is like when it receives its human and civil rights in a way.

  3. I think that the fetus stage is the most important because it is the cause of everything else in that child's life. If something bad happens at that point it would be extremely difficult, or even impossible, to fix.

  4. As far as the development of human beings is concerned, I would postulate that the prenatal phase ( most specificually that of it before the child is "finished" developing on an initial level, that is, when all parts of the body are ready to function as they would when born) is the most important part of a human's development. I beleive that without a proper start, it is impossible to develop normally. So if your hippocampus isn't formed correctly, there is little to no chance of you ever having a functional memmory as other people do. Though other parts of the life, espcially at a young age after birth, are vital, the actual "making" process is the most pressing.

  5. I think that the most important stage of human development is the teen years. While influences while a child can have a big effect on a person, when you hit the teen years you really start to sculpt out who you want to be, and discover new ideas and philosophies for life. Peer influence plays a big part in it too. We begin to pick up on how others act and start to build up our persona, which is basically a lie that we want to be. However, I believe that people can change their philosophy and attitude at any point in their lives, and that it is an ongoing process, not just one decade of development.

  6. I believe as children are leaving infancy and are on their way towards childhood is the most important state in the grown and development of human beings or babies in general. At this stage children are able to learn the majority of the things they will carry for the rest of their lives. They are able to suck up a lot more information which would mean that it is crucial to instill the right things in them at this moment. Children learn to speak around this time. Language allows the child to finally be able to ask for what they want and tell what is wrong with them. Speech is a skill that is highly needed in society.

  7. Looking at the growth and development of human beings, I believe the most important state is the "sponge" stage. I'm not sure exactly when this takes place but I'm going to take a guess that it is between 6 months and 3 years of age. This period in life is crucial because it basically determines what the child will become and how successful he is going to be in life. In this stage, the child soaks up everything that is said and done around him/her. I believe this is the period where it is determined if you're going to be a bright and respectful kid, instead of the contrary...And then there's death...yeah, that's important too I suppose...

  8. I think the most important state is adolescence. I think this because it is the stage between childhood and adulthood. During the adolescence stage, a person begins to change biologically, socially and psychologically. The reason I think its the most important is because it is the stage in which a person begans to blossom into the person they will be. Although some different things about them might change, the foundation is set at the adolescence stage.

  9. Since, the brain does not full develop until the age of 25-30, I would predict that the most important stage is between the creation of the egg stage until the age of 25. The growth and development of the brain are parallel to the development of human beings. We would not develop without a functioning brain. The brain is the initial phase of which tells us that we are capable of doing certain things.

  10. I think the most important stage of development is in the first few years of life. The child is dependent upon those around them and their environment affects how they will develop. If not provided with the basic needs from those around them, a child's development will be hindered.

  11. Well, it depends on how one defines most important. For the purpose of this blog entry, I will assume that "most important" refers to the ability to stay physically productive throughout life. First and foremost, it is necessary that all things such as the proper hormones be put into place, that is essential (pituitary gland, etc). However, no one thing is more important than the the primitive regions of the brain which regulate growth, recovery, and involuntary necessities. The times when these areas of the brain are most under development would probably be the late embryonic period to the early fetal period.
    Just my thoughts.

  12. I think that all stages of human growth are important. As a fetus grows to actually become a human it is susceptible to any diseases and sicknesses. Keeping a child healthy during the time of it being first born is important. After birth, I think that the most important stage of growth and development is the stage from ages 2-10. I know that seems like a wide range of importance but as soon as a child is able to talk then it is important to steer them down the right path. When a child is beginning to go through the “sponging” stage, they need to be taught what is right and wrong. A child repeats and does exactly what they see so they need to be around the good.
