The Brain and Time
Welcome Back! I'd like you to read the following article on the brain and how it interprets time. The article raises several very good points about how events and goals impact our ability to remember with accuracy. Please respond to at least two of the ideas discussed in the article and give some personal examples of evidence either supporting or refuting the claims. I will be back for class Thursday. See you then.

Motivation
Motivation manifests itself in many ways. I am sure you all are aware of the story of Frankenstein. In the early 1970's there was a remake of the Frankenstein named "Young Frankenstein". In this story the creature is supposed to receive the brain of a noted scientist but of course Igor drops the good brain and replaces it with something substandard. But even The Frankenstein Monster is motivated to do well (as seen in the scene below). What does this imply about the strength of motivation as a basic human drive? 15 lines please.

Motivation
Welcome back!
Close your eyes and think of the future.
What image first comes to mind?
How long does it take to see that something?
What does this say about you?
What does this say about humans in general?
Are most people the same or different?

The Power of Art
Good afternoon all,
I am at home so you are in the capable hands of Mr. Fazzolari. Today I would like you to put on your head phones, find a small sample of your current favorite song and answer these questions: How does this song make you feel? (Happy, sad, calm, energized, hyped, etc.) What would be other examples of music that makes you feel these ways? Finally, is there music that makes you feel smarter? Why?
Have some samples ready to share!
Have a good day and I hope to see you Friday.
Mr. V.

Learning, nature vs. nurture.
Is the fact that some people are smarter than others a reflection of genetics or environmental consequences?
